This is a small promotional documentary which aims to address the stigma which surrounds the Laventille area of Trinidad, which is commonly thought of by Trinibagonians as a dangerous place. The documentary takes us through the streets, shops, homes and public spaces of Laventille, introducing a tight-knit, familial community. At the heart of this community is a group known as the Laventille Rhythm Section. This rhythm section has to be heard to be believed- it is truly incredible. This short documentary also gives an insight into the live recording of the Laventille Rhythm Section’s latest album in collaboration with producers Jus Now and Trinibagonian popstar Kes. Tom Swindell was the cinematographer, Jus Now the producers, and I edited it!
